Short answer: ADAS calibration realigns the forward-facing cameras and sensors mounted to your windshield so driver-assist safety features work correctly. It's required after most windshield replacements on vehicles built in the last several years, because removing the old glass moves the camera's reference point even by a fraction of a degree.
ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems — things like lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning. Many of these systems rely on a camera mounted directly behind the windshield, near the rearview mirror, to "see" the road.
When your windshield is replaced, the camera is removed and reinstalled on the new glass.
